Enabling a Supermarket Chain to Expand
A supermarket chain wanted to expand one of its smaller stores into a space in two adjacent buildings that shared common walls. This presented multiple issues, including the divergent interests of different owners, insurance and liability concerns, and covenants requiring the approval of multiple parties. As a result, the expansion seemed impossible, or at least impractical. Socius lawyers helped the chain develop a strategy for the project. We successfully negotiated with the many interested parties and drafted the documents the expansion required. Today the space in the three buildings is operated as a seamless, integrated and highly successful supermarket.
